この曲が発表された年の秋に、セレーナはルプスという病気を治すために腎臓の移植手術を受けていました。
そして手術後はじめてのパフォーマンスとしてAMAでWolvesが披露されました。
インスタグラムでセレーナはその時のことについてこう言っています。
「私の一年ぶりのパフォーマンス…。AMAは私にとって、いつも重要な出来事をシェアする場所。Heart wants what it wantsもここで歌ったし、治療後の今はWolvesを歌う。今週の日曜日よ」
